Dr. Virginia Menchaca M.D., F.A.A.P.
Dr. Menchaca has been a life-long Texan. She was born and grew up in Southwest Texas. She was a National Hispanic Scholar in 1991 and graduated from Our Lady of the Lake University of San Antonio with a B. A. in Biology in 1993. She returned to her hometown of Crystal City, Texas and was a 3rd grade teacher for one year before being accepted into medical school. She completed her medical studies at The University of Texas Health Science Center in 1998. Dr. Menchaca remained in Houston and completed and completed her Pediatric Residency in 2001. She has been in private practice since 2001 and joined Pediatric Healthcare Associates in 2005. Her husband, Donas Cole, is very active in the community and is a hospital administrator. In March 2008, they welcomed their first child, Chloe Cole.
Dr. Menchaca's professional interest includes premature infants, preventative care, and genetics. She teaches a monthly "Handle with Care" Class along with her colleague, Dr. Sutton, for 1st time parents. She is Board Certified by the American Board of Pediatrics and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics.
